An 80-year-old man, upset over alleged mistreatment by his son and daughter-in-law, donated his property worth ₹1 million to the Uttar Pradesh governor, wishing that a school or hospital be built on it.
Nathu Singh, a native of Biral village and currently living in an old-age home in Khatoli town, said he filed an affidavit at the sub-registrar's office to hand over his property to the Uttar Pradesh governor.
Budhana tehsil sub-registrar Pankaj Jain confirmed that Nathu Singh had registered a will on March 4 to donate his residential house and 10 bigha agricultural land worth around ₹1 to the state governor. In an affidavit, Singh requested that a school or hospital be built on the land after his death.
He claimed that his son and daughter-in-law humiliated and insulted him several times and forced him to live in a retirement home.
